Simon Halliday will continue in his role as non-executive independent chairman of the board of European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) for a further three-year term.

Halliday said: "I am very proud to be continuing as independent chairman for another three years as we continue to grow the tournaments and to drive increasing revenue for the participant clubs via their leagues and unions.

"We have made impressive strides in many areas including the development of a destination finals weekend concept which proved an outstanding success in Bilbao last season. I look forward to playing my part as EPCR continues to go from strength to strength."

As independent chairman, Halliday will support the continuing evolution of EPCR’s commercial strategy alongside director general, Vincent Gaillard, and his team at the tournament organiser’s new headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

He will oversee the workings of the executive committee and board and will further engage with stakeholders during his term which runs until the end of the 2020/21 season.
